Bottoms Up, 1934

Starring Spenser Tracey, Bottoms Up was released in the USA on April 13, 1934, to favourable reviews. Tracey played "Smoothie" King, a promoter who helps a pair of phonies con their way into a movie company.

Written and directed by David Butler, the film was a pre-Code (a brief era in film history after the widespread adoption of sound in 1929 but before the rigid enforcement of the Motion Picture Production Code censorship guidelines) musical comedy that also starred Pat Paterson and John Boles.
